Hey loves. Its been a few days since the astoria arts festival has ended and i am finally back in my studio. The first thing i wanted to do was write this little post to thank not only Liz Nieves, but everyone who contributed in many ways to this years festival.
But, first and foremost, i'd love to thank Liz Nieves. Yes you. I know you dont wanna hear it, but, Thank You. For all of the reasons that i am gonna write and for all the reasons i don't. I am thankful for your friendship, which has lasted all of these years, and for your kindness, and thoughtfulness. I would also love to thank you for once again calling me out of my studio to participate in one of the best yearly festivals, that I have been part of these past years, thanks to you.
Thank you for taking the time to get all of the artists, all of the venues and all of the people in between the two, to come together and help put this together. I know how much you care, not only about the arts, but especially the arts of Queens, and the venues who participate in this festival as well. You see, Queens arts hasn't received the love it should be getting, yet. And still there we all are working away and putting together what we can when we can. The festival highlights what Queens artists and restauranteurs are doing all year round, in just a week. I wish the festival was year round. i would participate in it. So thank you, for being that beacon that helps artists at least find somewhere for a week to show the world what is being made in studios and homes, also what the food and drinks and environments that are being created everyday for foodies and artists alike. Thank you, once again for doing this. Thank you for always putting other artists in the Spotlight. And thank you for not letting people ever forget.
Oh, and yes, thank you for being such a wonderful artists yourself. For those reading this who aren't Liz Nieves, head over to this page for her work!!! www.glitterunicorn.com
