Password: Secret Sexy Societies

I was looking through my works and found this little series I worked on about women, sex, and the importance placed on their bodies.  In some societies, the bodies are covered and the eyes, are truly the windows into everything. Growing up here (US), with two sisters,  and learning a lot from them both through conversation and questions, I was immersed a bit in their world of how to interact with the western world, where such a burden is placed on women, how they look, how their bodies are from one moment to the next. This is a constant in women's lives, from fashion, to work, to school, to every moment from when they awake, until the rest. Although, I had done this series a while back, I had to put this up just revisit now, considering how much the idea of women has changed so much, and at the same time still keeps her in constant view of others.

Sometimes the Beatles have it in them to get me going along, and otherwise, that industrial rhythm that Black Sabbath's Paranoid album still brings, I have been within the studio walls contemplating wizardry, attending online dating seminars for shamans and deducing Zoloft and Zale's ever expanding dialogue of what came first, the depress or the golden dress. This week, experiencing and participating  in alleyway midnight lit theatre shows with native Tainos and being part of a ritual where the Knights of Malted beverages  was the height, as the medium was an induction into the secret teachings in the manly halls of the pendulum. In that time, I've managed to paint up some things that may be of concern to the midnight soul who prefers to to paint to the runes and live by the dunes....
